[GUIDE] Open Authoring with GitHub & Next.js

Last week we published a guide on how to create a new Next.js site, setup GitHub based backed editing, and implement an Open Authoring workflow.

Check it out!

Great job Nolan this is groundbreaking.

Does anyone know a way to do this without the API Routes? The routes don’t work with the Next static HTML export.

Also talking pure static sites… I’d love the same guide for Gatsby. It’s be such a shame to have something as amazing as Tina Github, but still rely on a server to handle next rendering (or Gatsby a whole separate build server for a users/clients)

Hey @matthewthomson! Thanks a lot

We do not have a solution that does not use the API routes yet. @dj and Joel are currently exploring a few different options for this though. Hopefully there will be an answer in the coming weeks.
